WINDALCO: During the 11 year period from 2000 - 2010, Mrs. Smith in her capacity as Consulting Environmental Engineer assisted West Indies Alumina Company (WINDALCO) (formerly Alcan) with much of the preparatory work leading up to the implementation and registration in 2001 of its Environmental Management System (EMS) and the subsequent maintenance of the system. It was the first Jamaican firm to be ISO 14001 certified. Her work involved:

Assisting Teams to develop their procedures
over the period 2003-2006 Mrs. Smith assisted WINDALCO to implement their ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System by facilitating Team meetings to develop new procedures or modify existing EMS procedures to integrate both EMS and QMS requirements.

Nestle Jamaica Ltd.: In 2010, Mrs. Smith assisted in the implementation of the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System
NMIA Airports Ltd: Mrs. Smith assisted the Norman Manley International Airport to implement the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS), between June and August 2009 .
J.Wray and Nephew Ltd. and Federated Pharmaceuticals: In 2007 to 2008, Ianthe Smith developed the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems for these companies who went on to obtain certification.
Bureau of Standards Jamaica: working with Maxine Campbell and Associates during the period April 2009 to July 2011, Mrs. Smith assisted with the development of an integrated Quality and Environmental Management System.
